Hurricane Melissa Had a Devastating Impact on the Island of Jamaica.
Communities across Jamaica are reeling in the wake of Hurricane Melissa, which swept through the island this week as a Category 5 hurricane, leaving many people homeless.
From the ground, chaos reigned across Jamaica in the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa as residents emerged from the storm to find their communities shattered, their homes lying in ruins, and the streets awash in mud, debris, and dangling power lines. The scenery is heartrending to witness. The cries echo through the streets as mothers wail about where they will place their children.
We are seeking assistance to meet the needs of those affected. This can include volunteers to help the rebuilding process, materials for building homes, food, clothing, or financial support.
Your contribution will go to help the Grange Hill community and the rural Westmoreland Parish.
